Heard Around Our House Today

Trying to convince Em to change her underwear…

M: Babe, you have to change your underwear before we put your shorts on.
E: But my underwear are clean! I just changed them.
M: I know. But your shorts are white, you should wear underwear that won’t show through your shorts.
E: But if they are clean, you won’t be able to see them!
M: It isn’t “dirt” that is going to show through, it is the Curious George that everyone will be able to see.
E: Oh! I should put on my princess ones, maybe my Ariel ones, because they are prettier, and people can see them instead of the George the monkey!

Yes…not quite grasping the concept. I did manage to get just white ones on her and then she did a yoga-like move trying to see if she could “see” them through her shorts. I tried to get a picture of her doing it, but we got sidetracked, and I lost the moment. I guess I could have tried to set-up the scene again just to get the picture, but really that requires too much work.

You can just imagine it. It was pretty funny.

Little girls just assume everyone will be excited to see their underwear characters… that’s why they’re alway lifting their dresses!

ROFL! Oh yes, I can imagine it indeed. I am cracking up just reading about it, so I don’t know how you managed to not break into hysterical laughter right there in front of her!

🙂 They just don’t quite grasp the whole fashion concept, do they? I try to explain to my son about matching and it takes a lot of work!
