Happy Friday – I know I’ve been posting a lot of photos this week, it isn’t for lack of terribly exciting blog fodder, we have just been pretty busy around here. And, um…I have more photos to post for today.
But to catch you up on the haps –
Nena (J’s mom) is here and the girls are over the moon. Yesterday, while we were preparing for her and Bill’s arrival, I think I heard “When will Nena be here?” at least 2,435,692 times. So they are here, safe and sound, and we are plotting out our weekend activities. What do we have on tap? Well….so far, we (the grown-ups) are doing dinner and Wicked downtown tonight, we have a pumpkin patch visit planned for Saturday, and the Rose Bowl flea market on Sunday. I’m sure we will have many more photos for next week.
(The girls yesterday checking out the neighhborhood Halloween-y decor in their “pokka lots” – a.k.a. polka dots.)
On other fronts, the potty training is going spectacularly well! I just keep holding my breath, expecting a “backslide” – but for the last three days, A. has been a champion potty trainer. I’ve even started getting a little cocky and running to the store without a backup change of clothing. I have learned in the past three days that when she makes up her mind about something…there is no questioning her. When she has a meltdown yelling “I don’t have to go!,” – she just doesn’t have to go. It might be a defiance thing, or she is doing it out of spite, but whatever it is – it is keeping her pants dry. And for that small thing, I am grateful. It is beautiful.
Have a great weekend.
