Birthday Wave #1

The first Birthday wave is over and was quite successful, I think.

I let Em open her “Gracie Girl” shirt so she could wear it – she loved it, of course!

And I had this little bracelet that I bought years ago (I’m not kidding – like 2 years ago!) for her and kept putting away to give to her…and forgetting about. But I remembered to wrap it up and give it to her on her birthday morning – and get this, it is a ladybug bracelet! Totally unplanned, but so perfect. She is wearing it in the first photo – while she clutches the sacred ladybugs.

Once she figured out they were ladybugs –

We had a very laid-back morning and then had lunch with her best friend Emma C. from school and her mom.

Emma C. was responsible for the cool “Sharpay (HSM) shades.”

And Emma Grace wanted chocolate cupcakes (sorry Aunt Meesh!) with white frosting. So that is what she got for lunch…

and dinner…

We had our friends over for dinner, and the birthday girl requested corndogs and broccoli for her b-day dinner. So, that is what we had. And my friend Michelle got this pic of us happy at the end of Em’s first day of being five…

But, wait! Just when we thought the day was over – we got another surprise. Daddy was able to get an early flight home and made it in time for popcorn and half of High School Musical before we called it a day. I think having her Daddy home was Em’s favorite gift of all. (Although, she is reserving judgment until Wave #2 and #3 are over.)

So fun! I remember the days of continuous birthday celebrations — it was great! I love the picture of the three of you, and I still can’t get over how much Addie looks like you!

This makes me want to be a little girl again!!! She’s just so radiantly happy. Too awesome about the ladybug bracelet! Love her expression in the first cupcakes-at-dinner picture…like she’s really trying hard to hold all that joy in.
