Happy Birthday La-La!

We met Lauren when she was only 5-ish months old or so in a KinderMusic class when we lived in Chicago. She was the youngest little one in the class, but she was already sitting and trying to figure out how to go, go, go!

I had no idea when we first met that Lauren and Emma would become such fast friends, or that I too would gain a best friend. I think that is a very rare thing to “find” an entire family that you are so compatible with, but I am so very thankful for our beautiful friendship.

We moved just over two years ago and if you ask Emma who her best friend is, Lauren is always included in the list, and always at the top. When we do get to visit we fall right back into our friendship, just like we had never left.

But it is always hard on “milestone days” like today. Our little Lauren, or La-La as Em always called her, turns five! We really wish we could be there for your party and to celebrate your day, but know that we are sending our love and wishes for a fantastic year of being five!

Happy Birthday, Lauren!

Thanks, Care…. I’m at class now, but will be sure to show/read your wonderful post to Lauren tomorrow. 🙂

    Happy Birthday, Lauren!
It’s neat to know how you guys met, too – I’d wondered about that! It is rare to find an entire family that just *clicks* with yours.

Such sweet shots of the girls…but so sad that they can’t be together. Great to hear about how you two met…I was wondering about that. 🙂

How fun! They are SO CUTE together!

I’m sure they will be friends for life. My best friend from when I was in preschool is someone that I still talk to, even though we haven’t lived in the same place since!

Blimey that last shot is a beauty. Such gorgeous girls. We too know the tyranny of distance when it comes to friendships. Many of the BA’s best friends live in the UK. Nowadays she keeps in touch through MSN and My Space. *sigh* It’s a different world.
