With a heavy heart…

It is with a heavy heart that I write J.’s Grandpa passed away yesterday. He slipped away peacefully and at home, how we all hoped he would go when it was time.

I think we all feel a mixture of relief and sadness. Relief, that he just won’t be suffering or in pain any longer. And incredible sadness that we will not get to spend more time with him and get to know him even better.

And although it is a cliche you say when trying to console someone – he is in a better place. As I had written before he had tremendous faith and knew that when it was his time, he was going home. And he was ready.

Thanks again for your prayers, love and support through this difficult time. I know J. and the rest of his family really appreciate the kindness.

I’m sorry, Carrie…even when if comes after a long illness and you’re “preapred” for it and is partially a relief knowing they’re no loner in pain – it’s still hard to lose someone you love.

Jamie & Jeff, Carrie, E & A: Sorry to hear about the loss of Grandpa. I did have the pleasure of meeting him a few times at your moms. Cliff was a very pleasant and funny man, to bad I didn’t have the chance to know him better. Please find comfort in knowing that he is finally home.

    Faith & Love,
    Nickie

    Dear J, Care & Girls —

So sorry to read of your loss but so very thankful, as I am sure you are, that you had the time to go home to see him and be with him when he knew you were there. Now you will always have the memories that were made during that trip. Please know that you are in our prayers, as well as J’s family.

    Much love to you all,

    Aunt Vicki
